It is in and throughout,
And overtop of,
Above, below, within,
All around…
The Peace
Not given to us like the world would have us knowing it—
Logical, explainable, “it makes sense.”
Because this doesn’t really make sense,
It is unexplainable,
Yet knowable,
A gift that comes from the Father
Of heavenly lights.
Unlike the anxiety, desperation,
Loneliness, grief, disappointment, worry, fear,
Distress, eating-away-at-you feelings
That
Absorb you, feed you, fuel you.
Our Father doesn’t shame or change like shifting shadows.
Don’t let your heart be troubled.
Don’t let your heart be afraid.
There is a peace that is not like the one the world
Promises as a billable.
This one is sound.
It is full of depth and width
And breadth,
And it is not contingent on reactions.
This peace transcends every bit of
Understanding that we have
And creates something new.
